HP launches own iCloud music service?

First to launch cloud service was Amazon, then Google, then Apple, and now possibly HP.

As Geek.com reported, HP is in talks with major U.S. labels to launch their own cloud-based music service similar to Apple’s newly announced iCloud.

According to the report, a major label exec let the talks slip, saying that HP wants a service much like Sony’s Qriocity. That same exec apparently questioned how “serious” HP was about the idea.

The talks are “heating up,” the report says, but record execs have questions about how quickly HP’s service would come to market, how it would compete with services like iCloud, Google Music, and Amazon Cloud Drive.

HP is keeping quiet on the matter.
