Armenia praises Iran’s weighed stand on Karabakh

Member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), the head of standing parliamentary committee on financial-credit, budgetary and economic affairs Gagik Minasyan praised Iran’s weighed stand on Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement.

According to him, Iran bordering with Karabakh, Armenia and Azerbaijan cannot stay aloof from ongoing processes, since it is first of all interested in stability of the region.

Minasyan also drew attention to the telephone conversations Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had with Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents during which they discussed the forthcoming presidential meeting in Kazan on June 25.

During the telephone conversation between the Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan they discussed issues of Armenian-Iranian relations as well as promotion of cooperation in different fields. They also touched upon regional issues.

Another telephone conversation took place the same day between Ahmadinejad and Azerbaijani President Ilham Alivey, during which the parties shared opinions on bilateral relations and regional security.

There is an expert opinion that the heads of state also touched upon the Kazan meeting between Armenian, Azerbaijani and Russian Presidents.
