On June 30, Mashable.com celebrates a Social Media Day, with over 1400 Mashable communities worldwide, including Yerevan community, will join in Mashable and Meetup-organised celebrations.

Yerevan’s Cascades will host the Armenian Mashable community’s meetup on June 30.

Mashable's Social Media Day is a celebration of the technological advancements that enable everyone to connect with real-time information, communicate from miles apart and have their voices be heard.

Last year, a Mashable reader and meetup.com meetings activist Arpine Grigoryan was responsible for organizing the event, which hosted only 15 participants.

“This year, only 9 have registered for participation. The event needs informational support in order to increase public awareness,” Ms. Grogoryan noted.

In 2010, 600 meetups to celebrate Social Media Day were held in 93 countries worldwide.
