Armenian, Austrian customs officers enhance cooperation

Aiming to expand cooperation in the customs field, an agreement was signed between governments of Armenia and Austria.

The document was signed on June 29 in Yerevan by Chairman of the Armenian State Committee on Incomes Gagik Khachatryan and ambassador of Austria to Armenia Michael Postle.

As the press office of the State Committee reports, Mr. Khachatryan emphasized the importance of signing the agreement in the stage of reforms implementation, as well as from the viewpoint of strengthening international ties and further development of structure.

Such documents enable exchange of information, work on removal of shortcomings as well as relief of border free trade regime, according to him.

For his part, the ambassador noted that Austria attaches importance to cooperation with the customs service of Armenia and added that the document will help set a direct link between customs services of two countries, raising the efficiency of revealing customs norms infringements.
