Confusion in Cairo continues: Over 600 people wounded

Confusion on Tahrir square in the center of Cairo continues. Police and security forces have been trying to break up unauthorized rally for more than 12 hours.

Most shops in the neighborhood are closed; roads are blocked up with trash and wreckage.

Police attempts to break up a rally using water-jet, tear gas and bludgeons. Over 600 people are wounded, 515 of which are in hospitals.

Clashes began when police tried to break up rally organized by Jan. 25 killed activist relative. The demonstrators demand resignation of the head of military junta ruling over Egypt, field marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, according to MIGnews.
