Defense Ministry: Azeri soldier’s injury can’t be blamed on Armenian armed forces

Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry report, suggesting an Azerbaijani soldier was wounded in fire opened by Armenian armed forces in Nakhijevan, is false, a spokesman of Armenian Defense Ministe said.

As David Karapetyan stated, Armenia’s armed forces are strictly observing the ceasefire, while Azeri side is making a point of escalating the situation through everyday violations. “Only on June 29, the number of ceasefire violation by the Azeri side reached 29,” he noted.

“Azeri soldier’s injury, if true, might be self-inflicted or a result of a hassle inside his detachment. If Azeri side has any other arguments to advance, it could address a relevant international structure with a request to initiate an investigation,” Karapetyan said.
