ANC getting ready for regular elections, expert says

Armenian politicians will intensify activities in autumn, launching preparations for the elections, according to a political expert.

As Yervand Bozoyan told a news conference in Armenia, “Armenian political field has announced an intermission for the summer period.”

“Even Armenian National Congress (ANC) is getting ready for regular elections, while continuing with demands for pre-term elections. Both the authorities and ANC will leave the dialogue door ajar, neither Serzh Sargsyan nor Levon Ter-Petrossian having anything to gain from radicalization,” the expert remarked.

During June 30 rally of the Armenian National Congress (ANC), its leader Levon Ter-Petrossian stated that the dialogue should focus on key issues, specifically, snap elections and establishment of legitimate power in the country. He said that unless the authorities satisfy their demands this time, next time they will demand for the immediate resignation of current President.

Next rally is scheduled for August 2.
