Armenian-Turkish Cinema Platform launched July 11

The Armenian-Turkish Cinema Platform (ATCP) opened on July 11 in the framework of Golden Apricot International Film Festival.

ATCP’s 9th subsequent workshop –Documentary Support Meeting – took place on the sidelines of 30th Istanbul International Film Festival, April 11-13, Cezayir Meeting Halls, Istanbul.

“It is very important for us to introduce ourselves and gain view about each others,” said film festival founder Harutyun Khachatryan.

The following projects were selected to participate in the workshop this year: A Tour in the Streets of Bolis, Nigol Bezjian – Armenia/Lebanon, New Year’s Eve Journey, Arthur Bakhtamyan – Armenia, Enter-from the Inside, Tigran Paskevichyan – Armenia, Rock Battles, Rock Peace, Hasmik Hovhannisyan and Aysegul Karakuyu – Armenia and Turkey, Wonderful. Very Nice-from Bitlis to America, Lusin Dink – Turkey, Lokman Hekim of Dersim, Veli Kahraman – Turkey, After Hrant, Ege Edener – Turkey, Radio Erivan, Eylem Kaftan – Turkey.

The authors of Armenian projects were invited to Istanbul to participate in the workshop, which included presentations, case studies, pitchings and film screenings.

The interest towards the platform was great. It was highly evaluated by renowned directors, representatives of festivals and co-production forums. Also, ATCP films program will be included in different regional and international events; it is invited to be screened in the Middle Eastern Studies Centre in New York University, according to Khacatryan.
