Armenian Education Ministry to monitor effectiveness of education expenditures

Diaspora students, who’ve graduated from Armenian universities in the framework of governmental program, will be fined 8 times the tuition fee for their last year of study in case of refusal to work at least 2 years in the country of their residence.

As Armenian Minister of Science and Education Armen Ashotyan stated, the governmental program envisages free education for 70 Diaspora students annually. However, as he noted, some of the students do not return to the countries of their residence. “Which renders our efforts to prepare new specialists for Diaspora useless,” he explained.

By paying the fine, the students who’ve violated the terms of the agreement will compensate the damages to the government.
