Iranian tourists feel free in Armenia

Citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran are frequent guests in Armenia for the last years, as evidenced by the visits growth index, which in 2010 totaled 40% as compared to 2009, according to head of the department of tourism and territorial economic development at Armenian Economy Ministry Mekhak Apresyan.

Iranians flock to Armenia not only in spring to celebrate Nowruz Bayram but also in summer hot season.

“As a rule, Iranians visit Armenia with families and feel free here, far from moral principles of their country,” Apresyan told PanARMENIAN.Net correspondent.

As Apresyan noted, the share of Iranians in total amount of tourists visiting Armenia is 7%, and this index will continue to rise.

Commenting on citizens’ discontent connected with Iranian tourists’ inrush to the country, he said that the tourists “leave here money which is positive for our economy.”
