Arto Tuncboyacıyan, Armenian Navy Band give concerts in Yerevan

Since July 15 – 18, world renowned musician Arto Tuncboyacıyan and Armenian Navy Band will have a series of concerts in Mezzo jazz-club in Yerevan.

As Tuncboyacıyan told a press conference, no concrete concert program is specified yet since Armenian Navy Band always decides on the program half an hour before commencement of the concert.

“All depends on audience. The band has about 300 songs, and the choice is rich,” said the musician.

Speaking about further plans, Tuncboyacıyan noted that on July 19 he will leave for Los Angeles to give a concert, after which he plans to record a disk in Netherlands.

Touching upon cooperation opportunities with Armenian artists, the musician said that he has visited Armenia since 1998, but nobody made him a collaboration offer.

“My art has no keys and it is open for all,” said Tuncboyacıyan.

The vocalist was out for a while, busy with recording the disk Human element for his group, which includes world famous classic just stars such as Larry Novak, Scott Kinsey and Matthew Harrison. The first record of the band dates to May 17, 2011.

It should be noted that the disc made a big stir among American jazz fans. Tuncboyacıyan said that it was difficult to do record as the band tried to use new sounds in the music like wind sound, etc.
