Yerevan, Dublin enhance interparliamentary cooperation

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandian who is on official visit in Dublin visited the Parliament of Ireland, where he met with Chairman of the joint commission for foreign relations of the Irish Parliament, Pete Brin and commission members.

In the course of the meeting with Irish Parliamentarians, the importance of interparliamentary cooperation both in bilateral and multilateral format was stressed.

As requested by Irish Parliament members, Nalbandian presented priority directions of Armenia’s foreign policy, official Yerevan’s approaches on a range of regional and international problems.

Brin underlined that it is planned to create Armenia-Ireland Parliamentary Friendship Group within Ireland’s Parliament, for development of interparliamentary cooperation.

On July 14, the head of Armenian Foreign Minister visited Dublin’s Institute of International and European Affairs, and made a speech about Armenia’s foreign policy. In his speech Nalbandian touched upon Armenian-Irish relations, issues of Armenia-EU cooperation, as well as regional problems.

Upon completion of the visit, Foreign Minister left Dublin for Vienna, where a meeting with OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier is planned.
