The Party of Free Life for Kurdistan (PJAK), a militant Kurdish nationalist group listed as a terrorist organization by the US, NATO and the EU, has hit back at Iran's Revolutionary Guard who's been bombarding the Iran-Kurdistan border over the past three weeks, PJAK spokesman said.

Clashes broke out between PJAK guerrillas and the Iranian military as the latter continued their cross-border offensives.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard set ambushes on the border intending to cross the frontier but PJAK forces struck back at them.

Iranian troops reportedly began shelling the Iraqi-Iranian border area in Kurdistan on June 13, ostensibly aiming to dislodge PJAK guerrillas based in the mountainous region.

Kurdistan region officials and PJAK leaders have confirmed reports that the bombardments spill over onto Iraqi territory, thus constituting an infringement of Iraqi sovereignty, AKnews reported.
