FRA Dashnaksutiun supports Francois Holland’s nominee

In an official statement published today, the president of the FRA for Western Europe, Mourad Papazian, calls the Armenian community of France to support the former First secretary of the French socialist party François Holland in the primary campaign for presidential election 2012, French journalist Jean Ekian told PanARMENIAN.Net.

FRA justifies its choice by the fact that François Holland is always “faithful to the combat for the Armenian cause, as well on the issue of the necessary recognition of the Armenian genocide by Turkey, as about that of the penalization of the Armenian genocide denial, without forgetting the regulation of the Karabakh question and entry of Turkey in European Union.”

François Hollande (born 12 August 1954) is a French politician. From 1997 to 2008, he was the First Secretary of the French Socialist Party. His partner was former French presidential candidate Ségolène Royal. In June 2007, just a month after the French presidential election of 2007, the couple announced that they were separating.

The 2012 French presidential election is the next presidential election, to be held in 22 April and 6 May 2012, the latter being used for a run-off if necessary. President Nicolas Sarkozy will be eligible to run for a second successive term during this election.
