World Chess Cup 2011 to host 128 chess players from 46 countries

Once again, Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia became the capital of the world's chess, with World Chess Cup 2011 will kick off on August 26. 128 chess players from 46 countries will participate in the competition.

Earlier, FIDE has announced the list of qualifiers for the World Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk, with Armenia to be represented by 3 players.

The 1st round pairings are as follows: World Team Championship winners Sergei Movsesian and Vladimir Akopian will play against China’s Hou Yifan and India’s Parimarjan Negi respectively.

2009 Armenian champion Arman Pashikian will face off against Poland’s Radoslaw Wojtaszek.
