Armenians improve positions at Junior Chess Championship

Armenia's Robert Hovhannisyan and Samvel Ter-Sahakyan improved their positions in the standings of the World Junior Chess Championship 2011 in Chennai, India.

Both GMs scored 5 points, Ter-Sahakyan is 3rd, while Hovhaniisyan is 5th. And they are just one point behind the leader of the championship, Axel Rombaldoni of Italy.

In the next round, Ter-Sahakyan will rival Rombaldoni, whereas Hovhannisyan will face Niclas Huschenbeth of Germany, who is currently the runner up.

Among girls, Maria Gevorgyan scored 2,5 points and is 41st in the standings. She will play against Philippines’ Mae Frayna in round 7.
