Wrestler Narek Khachatryan: winning championship gold demands much work

Narek Khachatryan (55 kg) who won gold at Junior World Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships in Bucharest, Romania, acknowledged that the title was obtained with difficulty.

“I understood that much work is to be done to reach the podium. I have been the fifth at the European Championship this year where I made many mistakes, but I did my best to correct them and the result is obvious,” Khachatryan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

“I have been training hard lately and got confidence in myself, and I did my job. In future, I plan to be a part of Armenian national team and, certainly, win medals,” the wrestler said.

During the European Championship 2011, Armenian team coach Armen Babalaryan said that Khachatryan stands a good chance to win the gold but he lacked confidence which prevented him from the victory.

Babalaryan asserts that Khachatryan is a skilled sportsman and believes that he will make Armenian fans enjoy adult tournaments as well.
