According to the well known British playwright Hanif Kureishi, residents of London’s rebel districts represent poor layers of the society, Valeria Frascetti writes in article published in La Repubblica newspaper.

“This unrest is just the beginning of season of rallies, which will last for years and will spread throughout Europeи,” Kureishi said.

It is worth to listen to his words: he is a son of a Pakistani man and an English woman, and he knows perfectly what is hidden behind violation that rose in various London districts.

“These are districts where many young men live walking in the streets with weapons, using drugs. Those 30-year men, who never had and will not have job, are British citizens, no immigrants, but they are pariahs of an economic system, to which they did not manage to affiliate,” the playwright said.

According to the writer, disorders broke out not because of police’s killing of a young man, but, as a consequence of ill-being, mainly, of economic character. It was not accidentally that the rage splashed against shops, symbol of access to well-being, which is barred for them.

“The situation got out of control also because of cut-offs for unemployment relief, subsidies for youth centers and social services. Resentment grows, and I think we are just at the beginning of a period of utmost social instability,” the playwrights said, as reported by Analitika.at.ua citing InoPressa.ru.
