Member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia, MP Gagik Minasyan supposes that to counterbalance Azerbaijan’s threats, the OSCE Minsk Group countries should warn Baku of possible recognition of Nagorno Karabakh.

“This is an inevitable development of the current processes,” Minasyan told a press conference on August 17, reminding of the Deauville statement which called on the conflicting sides to prepare the people for peace, not war.

He also reminded of the recent statement by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev who preferred “endless talks” to war.

As to recognition of Artsakh independence by Armenia, Minasyan said it will be done “at the most convenient moment.”
