3240 from 125 cities competed in 10 kinds of sports in the 5th Pan-Armenian Games that took place in Yerevan from August 14 to 21.

In the team even, Yerevan took the 1st place, winning 41 medals. Buenos Aires won The Best Sports Delegation nomination while the team from Urmia, Iran, were awarded for fair play. Participants from Chaldyr, Turkmenistan, were praised for Sports Spirit and Endurance. The team from Sasun was named the Games’ Phenomenon.

Christine Najaryan was elected Miss of Pan-Armenian Games.

Armenian President who attended the closing ceremony congratulated the participants and wished that their number increased year by year.
