Armenian Agriculture Ministry forecasts growth in 2012

Agricultural production in Armenia has increased by 32,4% as of August 1, 2011, compared to the same period in 2010, Deputy Agriculture Minister said.

“Livestock production grew by 1,2%. Cattle increased by 1600 heads, small cattle by 23 500 while the number of pigs grew by 3500. Milk production increased by 3 000 tons. Egg production decreased by 20% to total 380 million eggs,” Grisha Baghyan told a news conference in Yerevan.

At that, he noted that despite the 20% global growth of milk prices, Armenia saw a 8% surge.
