UN office in Armenia condemns terrorist act in Nigeria

The United Nations Office in Armenia has condemned the terrorist act in the UN building in Abuja, Nigeria.

The death toll from the bomb blast reached 23. About 60 people were wounded United Nations officials said there was no prior warning or intelligence about threats against its Abuja building. Top-level officials will remain in Nigeria to carry out a thorough assessment and examination of the whole building.

Radical Muslim sect, Boko Haram, which aims to enforce a strict version of Sharia law, has claimed responsibility. Boko Haram has been running religious schools for years but did not rise to national prominence until it attacked police stations and prisons two years ago.
