NSC names Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations well-formed structure

On September 3, Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations marks the 20th anniversary of emergency situation system formation in the country.

“Over the 20 years since its formation, Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations became a well-formed structure,” National Security Council Secretary Artur Baghdasaryan said at the Ministry-hosted celebratory event.

Baghdasaryan urged the Ministry officials to continue performing their responsibilities in full acknowledgment of importance of their mission.

The chief of Armenian Police, Alik Sargsyan, in turn, characterized the Ministry as the “most important achievement of independent Armenia.” Sargsyan gave high assessment to the level of cooperation between the Ministry and Armenian Police, expressing hope for its further development.

Deputy Minister of Defense, David Tonoyan thanked Armenian rescue force for their contribution to the elimination of the 1998 earthquake consequences, specifically noting the trust of Armenian people they’ve been enjoying ever since.
