Tigran Jrbashyan: trade with and from Armenia more civilized

Trade with and from Armenia is becoming more civilized in nature, Tigran Jrbashyan, Development Director of Ameriabank CJSC told journalists. According to him, Ameriabank is one of the biggest banks in the country focused on funding trade, offering clients a whole range of relevant tools. Here Jrbashyan noted that the Armenian companies came into closer cooperation with distributors, big companies which in turn requires relevant tools (bank guarantees, letters of credit and so on). “This creates demand and the banks try to meet it,” he emphasized.

Jrbashyan added that according to objective indices export dimension develops faster than that of import. “It accounts for price conjuncture in the international market and fostering Armenian manufacturer,” he noted.

Adhering to liberal economic views, Jrbashyan sees development both in export and import in sound competition. “Export expansion barriers are fewer than those of import, with the latter in Armenia being monopolized. But under sound competition it is possible to progress here too,” according to the bank official.
