Artsakh considered a foreign country because of roaming?

Every time before visiting Artsakh a question arouses: why do roaming services should be activated in the republic?

As to tariffs, if a subscriber wants to call Armenia from Artsakh, then VivaCell-MTS subscriber pays AMD140 per minute. Tariffs for Orange Armenia and ArmenTel are set at AMD165 and AMD170 respectively.

The point is not which of the operators is cheaper. The point is that the expression “Call Armenia from Artsakh” is itself inaccurate, not speaking about the absurd expression “roaming for Artsakh.”

In fact mobile operators themselves create the stereotype that there are Armenian people and there are Karabakh people.

Business is business. All the charitable actions, corporate, social or any other events become useless when upon return from Artsakh you find out a huge mobile bill, because you talked on the phone for a couple of minutes from “abroad” .

We have three mobile operators and monopoly seems to have long given way. Or has it come up in Artsakh?
