Greco-Roman wrestlers in 55, 66 and 96 kg weight class will compete on September 12, the first tournament day of Istanbul-hosted FILA Wrestling World Championships.

Armenian wrestlers are due to perform in 1/16 finals, with double European champion, World Championship silver and bronze medallist, Olympic bronze winner Roman Amoyan (55kg) to face off against Federico Manea of Italy. Arman Adikyan (66 kg) and World Junior Wrestling Championship winner and European Championship silver medallist Artur Aleksanyan (96 kg) will combat Italy’s Taha Dhahir and Serbia’s Dejan Franjkoic respectively.

Performing on the second tournament day are: Vahan Juharyan (60 kg), the champion of Europe and World Championship silver medallist Arsen Julfalakyan (74 kg), Artur Shahinyan (84 kg) and repeated champion of Europe, World Championship silver and bronze medallist, Olympic silver winner Yuri Patrikeev (120 kg).

FILA Wrestling World Championships 1-5 places winners will qualify for 2012 London Olympics.
