Checkpoint reconstruction at Armenia-Georgia border to start in November

Armenia will start reconstruction of three post controls (Bagratashen, Bavra and Gogavan) at the border with Georgia in November. “ARHIS Latvian company, international tender winner, is completing planning works, with construction to start in November,” Gagik Khachatryan, chairman of Armenia’s State Revenue Committee told journalists.

The program envisages enlargement of the territory of post controls, building of special parking lots and terminals for cars, improvement of sanitary-hygiene control and installment of equipment for closer examination. New four-lane roads have been constructed to service about 600 cars and 2000 passengers per day.
