Two Turkish cargo aircraft were shot at as they were returning from Benghazi. The planes were sent to Libya to deliver food aid.
The planes took off from Ankara's Etimesgut military airport and headed for Benghazi. After delivering the aid to targeted areas by dropping the foodstuffs with parachutes, the planes returned to Benghazi airport to start their journey back to Turkey.
After an hour into the flight, the planes were fired on by anti-aircraft weapons. The crew noticed the firing, and the planes returned immediately to Benghazi airport, where investigations revealed that the planes did not suffer any damage.
The investigations continue on the possibility of the attack being carried out by Gadhafi's forces, Hurriyet Daily News reported.
