Lieberman: Israel must negotiate with Palestine without preliminary conditions

Israel’s Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said that the state must accept the “Middle East quartet offer” and start talks with the Palestinians without preliminary conditions.

Lieberman hopes that Palestine will seriously approach the offer of the “quartet” and resume talks with Israel, MIGnews reports.

He emphasized Israel’s willingness to open talks with any issue with the key issue still being that of security. Minisiter hoped that the Palestinians understood that it is critical to focus on the political process and delay the UN vote.

He also warned that any unilateral step will cause any unilateral feedback on Israeli side.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas asked the United Nations on Friday, September 23 to recognize a state for his people, even though Israel still occupies its territory and the United States has vowed to veto the move.

Palestine’s bid will be examined by the UN Security Council on September 26.
