Two U.S. hikers jailed in Iran for spying return home

Two U.S. hikers jailed in Iran for spying landed in the United States on Sunday, September 25, after a more than two-year ordeal.

Freed on Wednesday, Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal first arrived in Oman that same day before returning home - arriving at John F Kennedy Airport in New York, dpa reported.

The two spent almost 26 months in an Iranian prison. Along with a third hiker released earlier, they maintained that they had accidently crossed into Iran while hiking in Iraq.
