ARMENIA READY TO PARTICIPATE IN INTERNATIONAL PEACEKEEPING OPERATIONS
During his current stay in Yerevan NATO deputy supreme allied commander Europe, admiral Rainer Feist discussed the issue of participation of the Armenian military in international peacekeeping operations in the Balkans at meetings with the Armenian president, defense minister and chief of the Headquarters of the Armenian Armed Forces. As R. Feist told journalists, Armenia had expressed readiness to participate in peacekeeping operations in Kosovo as part of a Greek detachment. In his words, the issue will be decided more specifically by the NATO and Armenian leadership. Let us note that according to earlier reports of the Armenian defense ministry, the Armenian military are planned to execute peacekeeping activities July 1.
