Armenian police chief says no officials’ sons among detained gang members

Armenian police chief Alik Sargsyan has officially denied that the members of the gang detained recently in Yerevan are sons of local officials.

He said that media representatives made conclusions after calling to various police departments and attempting to find out the possession of license plate numbers of the cars related to the investigation.

On September 23 morning, Armenian police officers conducted an operation to neutralize a 5-member gang suspected of committing grave crimes. 4 gang members were arrested and one got smashed up after falling from the rock he attempted to climb when escaping.

All of gang members were reportedly sons of Armenian officials and oligarchs.
