8 sportsmen to represent Armenia at Wushu championships in Ankara

8-member Armenian team will depart for Ankara, Turkey on October 4, to participate in the 11th World Wushu Championships to be held October 6-15.

At a news conference in Yerevan, Armenian Wushu Federation president Tigran Chobanyan that his main concern is unfair judgment. “During the 2010 championships in Antalya, our participants managed to win 2 gold and 10 bronze medals despite injustices. I think a similar situation will take place this year,” he said.

Besides sportsmen, three referees will represent Armenia as well. “Yesterday I was told that there are some problems regarding our referees but we will insist for them to judge the fights,” Chobanyan said.
