The U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan refused to “console” Azerbaijan distressed over French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s failing to visit Shahid Alley in Baku, however visiting Genocide Memorial in Yerevan.

Matthew Bryza refused to comment on the fact above stressing he’s neither a French Ambassador nor an OSCE MG co-chair, 1news.az reported.

After a visit to Tsitsernakaberd Genocide Memorial in Yerevan, Nicolas Sarkozy confessed to being impressed with the sight. “I share in the feelings of the millions of Armenians,” the French President said.
