April 24, 2015 is a fixed idea for Turkey, which will spare not effort to distract the attention of the international community from the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, an expert said.

“Turkey will try its best to fill the information field with ‘positive emotions’ from the beginning of 2015. Besides, liturgies will be served in Holy Cross Church in Akhtamar and a Yerevan-Van flight will possibly be launched,” Artak Shakaryan told a press conference in Yerevan.

He also noted that the U.S. is developing a project of Kars-Gyumri railroad, which may stretch towards Nakhijevan, with the only obstacle for the project being Azerbaijan’s obstinacy.

Shakaryan did not rule out that Turkey can even open the border with Armenia on the threshold of the 100th anniversary of the Genocide and them close it again.
