Trapattoni: we must do what we want to do

Ireland coach Giovanni Trapattoni will use the October 11 night's crucial Euro 2012 showdown with Armenia as a test of how his Republic of Ireland team have matured.

Trapattoni, whose conservatism has not enamored him to every Ireland supporter during his three-and-a-half-year reign to date, insists he will go out to win the game.

"We must do what we want to do, that's maturity. For our team, for our players, this is a good test to show that with this maturity, we can achieve the result we want,” he said.

"They [Armenia] are a real threat, of course. I don't think there are any superstars in the team, but they are all players of great quality and they have shown that in the last three games, they have scored 11 goals. It will be the toughest game we have faced for a while and we will be really tested at the back, including myself,” the 72-year-old coach said, rte.ie reported.
