Armenia vs. Ireland: we'll keep on fighting till the end

On October 11, Dublin’s Aviva Stadium will be seeing the most important match in 19 years of Armenia’s football history. In hosting Ireland, Armenia will be vying for an entry to UEFA EURO 2012 finals, the first time ever in the country’s history.

The victory at the last match as a part of Group B will bring Armenia the much-needed 3 points, as well as a minimum of 2nd spot in the Group, for the team to become play-off contenders.

Armenia warmed up well, scoring 3 major wins vs Andorra (3:0), Slovakia (4:0) and Macedonia (4:1), while Irish squad’s results were less impressive: (0:0) ties vs Slovakia and Russia, 2:0 win vs. Andorra. Armenia’s confidence increasing, Ireland need to watch out for the squad’s top scorers.

However, even the worst outcome at today's match will be far from a failure for Armenia, who've achieved a heady success, having grown into an impressive unit. Vardan Minasyan put Armenian football on the right track, to be blazing a path to new heights.
