Samsung Apps has continued to grow both in size and popularity.

Downloads from Samsung Apps TV have grown 100 percent just five months after reaching 5 million downloads in May 2011.The store has reached more than 11 million downloads in total, with an average of 50,000 downloads per day-double the number of downloads that occurred in May 2011, according to a post in Samsung’s Official Global Blog.

Online video applications remained at the top of the lists of most downloaded apps both globally and regionally. YouTube stayed a top globally, and was the country leader in the United States and South Korea.

Samsung Apps TV recently celebrated the milestone of 1,000 registered applications and soared past the 10 million mark for number of downloads.

Samsung Electronics became the first in the world to introduce a TV app store in February 2010.
