European integration priority issue in Armenia’s foreign policy – NA speaker

On October 21, Armenian parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamyan with European Movement International (EMI) President Pat Cox, Vice President Charles-Ferdinand Nothomb and Secretary General Diogo Pinto.

At the meeting, the National Assembly speaker stressed the European integration to be among priority issues with Armenia’s foreign policy. As he noted, Armenian authorities have enough political will to fulfill the necessary reforms.

Mr. Cox thanked Mr. Abrahamyan for hosing a conference on civil society’s role in European integration in Yerevan, stressing that the reforms initiated will further strengthen European values in Armenian society.

European Movement International (EMI) congress on “Fostering Civil Society’s role for further European integration in the Eastern Partnership countries” kicked off October 20 in Yerevan.

The event was opened by the head of the European Commission Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Raul de Luzenberger. The chief of presidential staff Vigen Sargsyan, Prosperous Armenia party leader Gagik Tsarukyan as well as 150 representatives of European and South Caucasus NGOs are participating.
