Democratic Party of Armenia to run for parliament

Democratic Party of Armenia (DPA) leader announced the party’s intention to participate in May 2012 parliamentary race.

As Aram Sargsyan told a news conference in Yerevan, no final decision as to participation format was taken. DPA leader didn’t rule out the possibility of cooperation with other political forces, with relevant negotiations in progress.

The politician noted equal terms for all parliamentary hopefuls as key condition for fair elections in the country.

As a member of ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Hovhannes Sahakyan noted, amendments introduced to Armenia’s Electoral Code envisage equal conditions for all political forces, the atmosphere of trust being essential to adequate election process.
