Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met with Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Vera Kobalia.

As Armenian governmental press service reports, Tigran Sargsyan expressed confidence that Armenian-Georgian committee meeting will further strengthen bilateral relations. Discussion of setting up single customs points with a purpose of enhancing customs clearance efficiency will be on meeting agenda.

“We view Armenia and Georgia as a single economic zone. All obstacles to goods transfer between the two countries should be ruled out,” he said.

In this context, the Prime Minister noted that the coming two years envisage about Euro 42 mln investment in bringing 3 customs points (Gogavan, Bavra and Bagratashen) to meet international standards.

On visit sidelines the parties discussed cooperation prospects in IT sector and industry, as well as Meghri-Batumi highway construction, which will by 180 km cut the distance between Iran and the Black Sea..
