Iranian security official departs for Moscow to discuss nuclear issues

Undersecretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Baqeri left Tehran for Moscow on Tuesday, November 8, a few hours before the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director-General releases his latest report on Iran.

According to Fars News Agency, during the visit to Moscow, the Iranian security official is due to meet with his Russian counterpart as well as the Russian Federation Security Council secretary and foreign minister and deputy foreign minister.

During the meetings, the two sides are due to discuss a range of issues, including Iran's nuclear activities and the IAEA stances and upcoming report on Iran, the Russian 'step-by-step' proposal for Iran-West nuclear standoff, and the recent developments in the Middle-East.

The recent accusations leveled by the U.S. against Iran as well as Tehran-Moscow security cooperation are also on the agenda of talks between Baqeri and the Russian officials.

Baqeri's talks with Moscow officials will be the fourth round of periodic meetings between Iran and Russia in the last three months.
