Charles Lonsdale: coming elections may be fairest in Armenia

Upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections in Armenia may become the fairest since the country regained independence, according to British ambassador to Armenia.

“For the past years Armenia has seen tangible progress in establishing democratic principles in the country,” Charles Lonsdale told a press conference in Yerevan.

In this context, the ambassador hailed President Serzh Sargyan’s statement regarding the necessity to separate politics from entrepreneurship insinuating the large number of businessmen in RA National Assembly.

According to Lonsdale, Great Britain is interested in strengthening economic ties with Armenia as well as helping people resolve current social issues.
