Lonsdale doesn’t forecast change in UK stance on Armenian Genocide

British ambassador to Armenia does not expect UK’s stance on the Armenian Genocide issue to be changed in the nearest future.

As Charles Lonsdale told a press conference in Yerevan, Britain perceives the issue to be solved by Armenia and Turkey, without a third party's mediation.

In this context, the ambassador noted that British people and government respect the memory of victims of “Armenian massacre and deportation in the Ottoman Empire.”

“I know how painful it is for Armenians,” he said.
