EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton has said the EU does not recognise the results of presidential elections in South Ossetia on November 13.
In a statement, she said “The EU does not recognise the constitutional and legal framework within which these elections have taken place.”
Catherine Ashton reiterated the EU’s support “to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia, as recognised by international law”, and emphasised “the importance of the Geneva International Discussions in ensuring the security and stability in the region," according to ENPI info center.
