Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian defeated Ukraine’s Vassily Ivanchuk in the 3rd round of Ral Memorial to top the tournament standings with 2 points along with Ian Nepomniatchi (Russia), Magnus Carlsen (Norway) and Sergei Karjakin (Russia).

In the next round, Aronian will face Viswanathan Anand (India), who is currently 5th with 1.5 points.
