Iran has summoned the Turkish ambassador to Tehran to protest Ankara's inaction towards a terrorist attack on an Iranian bus in Turkey earlier this month.

Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned Umit Yardim on Tuesday, Nov 22 to pass Tehran's protest note at Ankara’s “unacceptable” response to the attack, the ministry said.

On Nov 15, armed men opened fire on Iranian bus with 40 passengers, headed for Syria in the Ercis district of Turkey’s Van Province.

Nine Iranian nationals, including a seven-year-old child, were injured in the attack.

During the meeting with the Turkish envoy, the Iranian Foreign Ministry's director general for Iranian Expatriates reminded Ankara of its obligations to protect the lives and property of Iranian nationals in that country.

He also called for the identification and prosecution of the perpetrators behind the Nov 15 attack.

Yardim promised to convey Iran's objection to the Turkish government, Press TV reported.
