Shakhtar Donetsk won a smashing victory against Karpaty in the 18th round of Ukraine Football Championship, with Armenian midfielder Henrik Mkhitaryan scoring the fifth winning goal after a making an assist.

“This was probably the best match we played this fall. Choosing the squad I gave preference to strong players, because we have often had complicated feats with Karpaty,” Shakhtar Donetsk chief coach Mircea Lucescu said.

Gaining 45 points, Shakhtar are currently 2nd in the championship standings, with 1 point behind the leaders, Dynamo Kyiv. On December 2, Shakhtar will face off against Arsenal at Donbass Arena.
