Armenian truck drivers still stuck at Upper Lars check point

Armenian truck drivers, stuck in Upper Lars check point at Russian-Georgian border are still waiting to get a response on whether they’ll be allowed to pass.

The head of Armenian Association of Freight Forwarders Herbert Hambardzumyan expressed hope that the issue will be addressed during Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s visit to Georgia Nov 29, with Transport and Communication Minister Manuk Vardanyan as part of delegation.

As he noted, Georgia closed down the check point for seasonal reasons, citing danger to people’s lives that roads in winter may pose.
