Yerevan, St. Petersburg discuss cooperation prospects

In June 2011, Saint Petersburg and Yerevan reached a cooperation agreement on trade, education, culture and tourism.

For the past two years the trade turnover increased by 6% to total USD 14 mln, First Deputy Chairman of St. Petersburg Committee for External Relations Andrey Petruk said on November 30.

A 10-member delegation arrived in Yerevan to participate in a business forum and a roundtable on outcomes and prospects for Yerevan- Saint Petersburg cooperation.

“Today’s business forum will enable us to unveil new cooperation prospects given the fact that a large number of Armenian businessmen work in Saint Petersburg,” Petruk said.

Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Yerevan city administration David Gevorgyan, in turn, added that the cooperation project was developed on basis of friendly ties between the two cities.
